Started off on The Wrong Foot ?!! HTC 10 LifeStyle Is Suffering from Terrible sales Performance in China

1

The releasing and publication of a new product, especially as a flagship product (HTC 10) of a great company (HTC), is always supposed to be a big hit in the market.

HTC just had its Press Release for its well-known flagship product, HTC 10, on 12th of April in three great cities- Taitung, London and New York; later after the press, HTC updated the website worldwide. However, some sharp-eyed and careful netizens found that HTC 10 LifeStyle (priced 3799 RMB) for China market isn’t equipped with “Sanpdragon 820”, the version provided in other markets around the world, for which made Chinese consumers rather dissatisfied. And actually, Chinese consumers are irritated by this lower grade ( Snapdragon 652 SoC) of specifications offered in China.

So far as we have known, 8 days after the pre-orders were available, the sales volume of pre-order (73 units) of HTC 10 in China was way lower than it of Xiaomi 5 (452 units)

Whereas this incident and under this kind of pressure from netizens and consumers in China, as well as the concerns in markets. Apparently, HTC immediately made a quick move and changed the system chip back to Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Soc. What’s more, HTC are now promoting some specific packages as new strategy. And obviously, HTC doesn’t want to lose too much market in China, or maybe I should say, HTC still want to turn the tides and hope to come back soon.

2

The truth is, no one knows how HTC will move further, or what HTC’s next step is. Anyway, will HTC have any chance or possibility to win the market back in Mainland China, making a tragedy a comedy, or this comedy show still goes down to a tragedy, or… it will eventually be a “Tragicomedy”? What do you think?
