Top 50 Smartest Companies in 2016. Apple is out !!
Each year MIT publishes “MIT Technology Review” to identify 50 companies that are smart. And the magazine evaluate “Smartest Companies” in the way they create new opportunities. However, unfortunately, one of the largest company- Apple, once in top 50 in 2015, is out of top 50 this year in 2016. Which is so jaw dropping for many people.
According to MIT Technology Review, Amazon, Baidu, Illumina, Tesla and Aquion Energy are top five on the list in 2016, and interestingly, Huawei technologies Co. Ltd., due to its great sales, and the third largest cellphone manufacturer, is the 10th company on the list as well.
Other companies such as Facebook, has risen up to number 15 by High quality VR Device “Oculus”, and as for communication App “Line” can also be seen as number 38 on the list, because its group calls support up to 200 people and made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange.
Basically, MIT Technology Review evaluates in several ways, mainly about how the company create new opportunities, other factors as the mentioned in magazine, like Amazon and Alphabet, that are using digital technologies to redefine industries. Others are wrestling with technological changes: companies like Microsoft, Bosch, Toyota, and Intel. Also on the list are ambitious startups like 23andMe, a pioneer in consumer-accessible DNA testing; 24M, a reinventor of battery technology; and Digi Chuxing, a four-year-old ride-hailing app that’s beating Uber in the Chinese market. Still, despite the excitement of recent advances in such fields as artificial intelligence and genomic medicine, technology has failed to energize the overall economy.
