In 2014, Huawei Mate 7 had an unbelievably high sales record- approximately 7 million cellphones were sold. And in the late 2015s, the new Mate 8 was released in China.

What’s new with Mate 8? Actually, I want to make a brief comparison with its predecessor Mate 7; however, I might as well introduce you this new product as compare them. So, let’s check it out together.

First of all, I would like to mention the Huawei mate series have always featured big screens, and Mate 8, of course, is not an exception.

Secondly, I personally really dig its all-new camera- with a larger, higher-res sensor and phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization.

I attach the key features of Huawei Mate 8 as follows.

  • Hybrid DualSIM/microSD card slot (up to 128GB)
  • Aluminum unibody, diamond-cut beveled edges, sandblasted satin back finish
  • 6″ 1080p IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 368ppi
  • HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset: octa-core CPU (4xCortex-A72 @ 2.3GHz plus 4xCortex-A53 @ 1.8GHz), Mali-T880 MP4 GPU
  • 3GB of RAM/32GB of built-in storage, or 4GB/64GB
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, Huawei EMUI v4.0 overlay
  • 16MP camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, phase detection autofocus, OIS, f/2.0 aperture; 1080@60fps video recording
  • 8MP front camera, f/2.0 aperture; 1080p video recording; wide selfie
  • Cat. 6 LTE (300/50Mbps); dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct; Bluetooth 4.2 LE; NFC; GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS/Beidou; microUSB
  • 4,000mAh Li-Po battery, fast charging
  • 3.5mm headphone jack, active noise cancelation with a dedicated mic

As you can see above, it is rather obvious the Mate 8 has an unmatched high-end specs and its “vibe” is also noncompetitive according to the pictures.

Besides, another 2 attractions of Mate 8- one is that Huawei Mate 8 is powered by the Kirin 950 chipset, which makes it the very first smartphone using Kirin 950, and because of it, the efficiency is way better than Mate 7. Next, Mate 8 has super battery endurance due to the new Modem technique. Though its battery is virtually smaller than Mate 7, Mate 8’s battery lasts longer based on the battery test.

Please take a look at the battery test video.

In my opinion, there are a few moments in history where theory becomes fact. I can never guess how technology will develop, or how far we can reach in technology field. And I have to admit I am pretty surprised with the overall performance of Mate 8. It’s said Mate 8 will be on the market in Taiwan in March. Please be patient, and if you would like to know more about Mate 8, please visit it’s website. –Huawei Mate 8
